Goose Island
Goose Island Real Estate
Goose Island is an artificial island formed by the north branch of the Chicago River and the North Branch Canal. What used to be a predominantly industrial part of Chicago has now become a hub of creative loft office space, contributing to the island's recent rebranding as "Innovation Island" … It is home to a slew of restaurants and craft breweries, but there is no actual residential real estate there.
Goose Island Neighborhood Information
Goose Island is the more low-key neighbor of the West Loop and the Fulton River District on the near north side. Goose Island is just blocks from plenty of avante-gard eateries, craft brewers, and trendy shops in closely neighboring areas. Goose Island Brewery offers tours and tastings. Goose Island is mellower than the nearby River North and West Loop areas. Although the streets are calmer, Goose Island is less tree-lined than neighboring Noble Square and Old Town neighborhoods, so it maintains some of its industrial grit and artistic appeal.
Goose Island Accessibility
Goose Island has the CTA red line at its northern border and the brown line at its southern border, giving residents direct access to the downtown Loop area. The Edens expressway runs along the western border of Goose Island.
