Ukrainian Village
Ukrainian Village Real Estate
Located to the northwest of the Downtown Loop and to the almost immediate south of Wicker Park, Chicago’s Ukrainian Village offers prospective home buyers a low-key alternative to the hubbub typically associated with other sections of West Town. Realtors always say this, but the area’s residential real estate offerings are truly unique. Single family homes and townhouses as well as the neighborhood’s signature two-flats and vintage three-flat condos line streets adorned with landmark-designated cathedrals and a number of other Ukrainian cultural landmarks. The juxtaposition creates an ambiance unlike any other in the Windy City.
Ukrainian Village Neighborhood Information
Known for proud displays of its ethnic heritage, Ukie Village is notably smaller than either nearby Bucktown or Wicker Park. Despite its size, residents will find shopping along Chicago Avenue, a number of cozy neighborhood bars and restaurants ranging from Old Lviv and Roots Handmade Pizza to a tovola and Kasia’s Deli. Lovers of live music will quickly discover the Rainbow Club and Chicago’s legendary Empty Bottle, and fans of cultural exploration will get to enjoy the Ukrainian National Museum.
Ukrainian Village Accessibility
Bounded by Division Street, Damen, Chicago, and Western Avenues and nestled within the larger ward of West Town, Ukrainian Village is one of Chicagoland’s most walkable neighborhoods. It’s serviced by several CTA bus lines including the 70 Division St, 49 Western Ave, 66 Chicago Ave, and 50 Damen Ave. It doesn’t have an L Train stop but there’s abundant street parking and it’s convenient to the Kennedy Expressway.
