Meet Jodi Dougherty

My favorite neighborhood in the city has to be old town- it’s where I live and one of the most centrally located neighborhoods in the city. You’re walking distance to all the restaurants in old town, gold coast, river north, easy access to the expressway and lake shore drive and quick walk to the beachfront. There is also a great mix of residence, retail but set among large parks and lots of trees!

I chose DRC because of the culture of this company, it’s a small boutique firm, more than most traditional broker companies. In a smaller environment, you get not only direct access to the other people you work with and for, but also have a sense of family and connection that you don’t have in a larger company. They have worked hard to carve out their niche in the luxury rental market as a premier service provider and that was exactly what I was looking for when I moved back to Chicago, a place where I could build my business and also have access to a clientele that would be transitioning into more permanent homes, whether it be relocation or their first home purchase! There is nothing more exciting than helping a first-time home buyer through their process, educating them on the market and process, and ultimately being part of one of the largest purchases in their life! It’s scary, but can also be so exciting- I love to be the one who calms their fears through education allowing the process to be the most exciting!

I love living in this city for so many reasons it’s hard to count, but I really love the access you have to all the different food, culture, and neighborhoods. It takes you less than 20 minutes to a new adventure, whether it’s riding the EL, riding along the Lakeshore on a bike, visiting a farmers market, strolling through a museum, taking a cooking class at the chopping block, or participating
